Ready to Kit Out Your Programme?
Tell us your governing body, your roster size, your colors, and your season deadline. We’ll come back within 24 hours with fabric recommendations, a compliant numbering plan and clear pricing.
Basketball is the only team kit where a single wrong digit makes the entire order illegal. High school, college and FIBA each allow different numbers at different minimum heights — and a jersey that fails a pre-game check is a jersey you cannot use. Axis Sportswear is a cut & sew custom basketball uniform manufacturer producing game kit, reversibles, warm-ups and referee uniforms for schools, clubs, academies and activewear brands across the USA, UK and Europe.
Everything is made to your spec — cut, fabric weight, short length, number style, name placement and roster numbering. Every game garment is built to your governing body’s rules by default, whether that’s NFHS, NCAA or FIBA. Minimums start at 50 pieces per style, tech pack development is free, and your first sample ships in 7–10 days.
A basketball order is a roster order. Every single jersey in the box is different, and the two things that decide whether the box is usable are the numbering rules and the roster handling. We settle both before anyone picks a Pantone.
Send a tech pack, a sketch, a competitor jersey, or just your school colours and a logo file. Our design team returns a production-ready spec with cut, fabric and GSM, armhole and neckline shape, short length, number font and height, name lettering size and every logo position marked. Free with every order, and you approve a numbered proof before sampling starts.
This is the part that turns an order into scrap. NFHS high school rules allow only numbers built from the digits 0 to 5 — 0, 00, 1–5, 10–15, 20–25, 30–35, 40–45 and 50–55, and a roster cannot carry both 0 and 00. NCAA has allowed the full 0–99 range since the 2023-24 season, so a college roster can wear 6, 7, 8 and 9 that a high school roster legally cannot. FIBA runs its own numbering and sizing conventions in centimetres. Order a high school kit with a number 78 on it and you have bought thirty unusable jerseys and a four-week reorder delay. We check the roster against your rulebook before anything is printed.
Order one garment or a full programme package. Everything below can run in the same fabric and colourway in a single production batch, so your varsity, JV, women’s and youth teams all match.
Fully sublimated double-knit or poly-spandex jerseys with the number, name, crest and side panels printed into the cloth rather than sitting on it. No cracking, no peeling, no added weight, and unlimited colours at no extra cost — which is why sublimation has become the default for basketball everywhere except traditional college programmes.
Matched shorts in 7", 9" or 11" inseams with an elastic or drawcord waistband, side pockets or clean side seams, and side-panel graphics that align with the jersey. Short length is a real generational decision — youth and European teams tend shorter, US high school and college longer.
Two teams' worth of scrimmage kit in one garment, in your light and dark colours with numbers on both faces. Built with an opacity barrier between the layers so the reverse number doesn't ghost through — the single most common defect on cheap reversibles and the reason coaches replace them every season.
Basketball is played indoors, at pace, by heavily sweating athletes, and the jersey is sleeveless — so weight, opacity and print stability matter more than they do in almost any other kit. Here’s our range with real figures. Ask for a physical swatch pack before committing to a season buy.
Basketball rosters are small — twelve to fifteen players — so a rigid 200-piece minimum locks out exactly the buyers who order every single year. Ours doesn’t.
50 units per style and colourway, with sizes mixed freely inside that quantity — youth through adult 4XL in one order. A single school can cover varsity, JV and women's teams inside one minimum instead of three.
Breakpoints at 200, 500, 1,000 and 2,500 units per style. Because sublimation carries no per-colour cost, a fifteen-player roster with fifteen different numbers prices the same as fifteen identical jerseys — which is not true of screen print or twill.
Combine game kit, reversibles, shooting shirts, warm-ups and staff apparel in one production run and the setup, sampling and freight costs are shared across the whole package. For a school or club buying a full programme this is normally the single largest saving available, and it guarantees your colours match across every piece.

If you’re a teamwear brand, a dealer or a club shop, we manufacture under your label, not ours. Nothing that leaves our floor carries our name.
For schools and clubs we also bag and label by player — name, number and size on each pack — which for a fifteen-player roster across three teams is the difference between a smooth kit handout and an hour of sorting on a gym floor.
A single high school replacing one set of varsity jerseys, a club running six age groups, a summer camp buying two hundred reversibles, and a teamwear brand planning a dealer season are four completely different orders. We price and schedule all four the same way — transparently, and without treating a 50-piece school order as a nuisance.
Start with one team to prove the fit, the fabric and the numbering, then scale into a full programme once your athletic director or your dealers have seen it. Pricing scales with volume, patterns and roster templates stay on file, and reorders skip development. There’s no penalty for starting small and no ceiling on where it goes.
No surprises, no middlemen, no guessing about where your order is. Here’s exactly how we work.

Basketball is the most sublimation-dominated category in team sport, and for good reason — but there are still three cases where it’s the wrong answer.
Colour and graphics printed into polyester fibre, so there's nothing on the surface to crack, peel or add weight. Unlimited colours at no extra cost, every jersey in the roster individually numbered for the same price as a blank, and gradients and photographic panels that no other method can produce. The default for basketball worldwide. Polyester only — it will not bond to cotton.
Stitched-down twill numbers and lettering, single or double layer. Heavier, more expensive, unmistakably traditional, and still what most US college and premium high school programmes specify because it reads as a real jersey rather than a printed one. Worth the cost on a flagship uniform.
Thin, flexible transfer numbers applied to a plain blank. The fastest and cheapest route for a late roster addition or a mid-season replacement, and the right call when a programme needs one jersey in four days rather than fifteen in four weeks.
Cost-effective on large runs with simple, repeated graphics — supporter tees, camp shirts, fan replicas. Rarely the right choice on game jerseys, because every number is different and screen print charges per colour and per screen.
Raised, durable stitching for crests and marks on warm-up jackets, staff polos, quarter-zips and travel wear. We avoid it on lightweight game jerseys, where the stitching restricts the fabric and shows through on a sleeveless cut.
Numbers, player names, captain marks, senior-year tails and commemorative patches. Send us a roster sheet and we handle the whole set — every jersey checked against the sheet before it's packed, and a numbered proof sent to you before anything is printed.
We exist to make ordering custom basketball kit simple, compliant and worth repeating every season.
